The Fragrance Foundation (TFF) is accepting nominations for the 2021 TFF Awards now through February 12th —vote here.

The categories this year include all the usual ones, such as Fragrance of the Year Women’s, Fragrance of the Year Men’s, and the new ‘Universal’ categories added last year to recognize the growing popularity of gender-neutral fragrances (which we all used to call ‘unisex’.)

There are a few changes this year to the Packaging categories. They are:

  • Luxury Packaging of the Year: To qualify as ‘luxury’, the pricepoint must be $200 and up for a 100 ml bottle.

  • Prestige/Popular Packaging of the Year: The suggested retail price must be $199 or less for a 100 ml bottle.
The Consumer’s Choice category also has a change—the Consumer’s Choice Candle & Home Collection of the Year category includes candles, diffusers, and other interior scent products. These nominees will be evaluated based on fragrance, packaging, and product innovation.

Other categories include Indie Fragrance of the Year, Media Campaign of the Year, and the Fragrance Hall of Fame.

She mentions how the fragrances we prefer at any given time are affected by where we are and what we’re doing. She writes, “What we smell depends on what’s in vogue and what’s valued—on what cultural forces happen to be swirling in the air.”
